About me

I’m Delaille Graham, founder of Lady Wineland.

​

I live in Stellenbosch and work in the South African wine industry. Wine has been part of my life for a long time, but Lady Wineland has gradually become about more than wine.

​

I studied Viticulture and Oenology at Stellenbosch University and originally planned to become a winemaker. In 2016, shortly before I was due to leave for New Zealand to work as an assistant winemaker, I was involved in a serious car accident. That changed the direction of my career.

​

I stayed in South Africa and moved into the commercial side of the industry, working across wine, hospitality, international markets, brand development and private client experiences.

​

I also spent two years living and working in the Kruger National Park as a safari sommelier. It was a very different chapter of my life and one that changed the way I think about land, conservation and the places we choose to call home.

​

These days, I’m back in the Cape Winelands.

​

Wine is still at the centre of much of what I do, but my interests have always stretched beyond what is in the glass. I love good food, travelling through the Winelands, finding places worth returning to, hosting friends and spending as much time outdoors as possible.​ I’ve also recently returned to horse riding, something that was a big part of my life when I was younger.​

​

You’ll find South African wine, food and recipes, Winelands guides, travel, restaurants, gatherings and everyday life in the Cape.

​

Some of it comes from my professional experience in wine. Some of it is simply what I’m enjoying, learning or discovering along the way.

​

I’m newly married, building a home and figuring out what I want the next chapter of life and work to look like.

Lady Wineland is where I share all of it.
